Richard Bertolucci, a Sacramento native first opened the doors of Bertolucci's Body and Fender Shop for business in 1948. 

Mr. Bertolucci began modifying cars with his father Mario, in 1943.  In 1948, he opened his own custom body works.  Initially it was located at his father's home. He then moved to 21st and Broadway.  In the late '50's, he switched his energies to conventional body, fender and collision work.

Today "Bertolucci's Body and Fender Shop Inc." is one of the largest repair facilities in the Sacramento area.  Mr. Bertolucci is also a charter member of the Capitol City Thunderbolts. He is an avid performance enthusiast who has been racing high-reving Chevrolet six cylinder drag racing and Bonneville Salt Flat vehicles for over 50 years. Many of his early vehicles, including his GMC-powered Dolphin dragster and lakes racer, are in his own personal automotive collection located at the body shop.  He continues to compete in his vintage front-engined slingshot style dragster.
